Operating within the competitive hotel industry, Holiday Inn Perth City Centre had built a new local website, but it did not rank well on Google. This low visibility not only reduced their online presence but resulted in most of their accommodation bookings being made through aggregator sites. In addition, they wanted to be recognised as the hotel of choice for families in Western Australia.
Following an in-depth review of the client’s digital marketing activities, Bonfire’s specialists implemented new organic and paid search campaigns. The strategy involved a keyword refresh to focus on niche terms such as ‘family hotel Perth’, content optimisations and strengthening their domain with relevant backlink opportunities to improve their organic rankings on Google. To compliment the organic search strategy, a Google Ads campaign was executed to achieve immediate results.
Bonfire’s search marketing strategy was a huge success for Holiday Inn Perth City Centre. A significant achievement was their rise in rankings from page ten to page one of Google. Holiday Inn also achieved a 74% increase in organic traffic in 12 months. This strategy was so successful that in September 2019, Holiday Inn Perth City Centre won the “Number 1 Family Friendly Hotel in Perth” accolade through the City of Perth. They also received an award of “Excellence” from the Australian Hotels Association at the 2019 AHA Accommodation Awards. Holiday Inn Perth City Centre has now cemented their position as the hotel of choice for families in WA.
