2023: A Year in Review

Reflecting on 2023, we had a remarkable year on many levels, and are proud of what the team achieved in what was trying market conditions for many.

In March, we were again recognised as a Google Premier Partner. This distinction, reserved for the top 3% of Australian agencies, is a testament to our team’s expertise and activation. Being a part of this program, gives us access to a range of exclusive benefits including early access to new features and prioritised support from Google, which ensures our clients are at the forefront for their Google marketing.

We were again honoured, to receive numerous industry acknowledgements, being named a finalist for Digital Agency of the Year at the Campaign Brief Awards and AMI’s Data and Insight Driven Marketing Award, in recognition of our commitment to data-driven strategies.

The latter half of 2023 was filled with a raft of industry contributions. At State of Social, Bonfire’s own Johari Lanng shared valuable Google Analytics 4 insights, we hosted the Youngbloods and Jumpstart programs, and recommenced our own event calendar with “The Future of Data for the Modern Marketer” keynote and fireside chat in partnership with Yahoo!

Our team shaped 2023 with their endeavour. We celebrated milestones like the 20-year tenure of George and Peter Gavalas – a significant highlight of the year, with more of the team on the cusp of equally significant milestones. Numerous team members stepping into new roles and responsibilities, and attaining additional qualifications and certifications, highlight an ongoing commitment to advancement.

Internally, we solidified our strategies and operations, with a revised approach to client ROI, yielding impressive results. We expanded our Performance Media offering with additional Programmatic services, and initial results have been outstanding.

We have also been busy leaning into the next horizon of performance marketing, with three significant AI-led projects due to launch in 2024. These will provide our clients with unique levels of insight and campaign performance – the groundwork for a transformative 2024.

Looking back, 2023 was a year of significant wins and even bigger strides forward at Bonfire. Anticipation for what 2024 holds is high. We’re excited to unveil some new innovations and continue to push the boundaries in the performance marketing space.
